After extensive discussion, the InSiGHT Council has decided to postpone the May 2021 meeting until the second half of 2022. The decision was first and foremost based on the wishes to keep everyone safe and healthy amidst the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic. We had surveyed the InSiGHT membership prior to making this decision. The majority of responses confirmed either the inability to travel due to institutional or national restrictions, or the desire not to travel in these times.
We acknowledge that meeting in person and directly interacting with colleagues remains one of the strengths and favorite aspects of the biennial meeting. We are optimistic that this will again be possible in late 2022. Subsequent meeting cycles will then continue every 2 years.
Council has also considered the impact this may have on membership dues, and accordingly has extended the length of each member’s term for one additional year from their current expiration date. We will be providing more information as future decisions are made. In the interim, InSiGHT will be exploring ways to provide educational content and updates via video platforms in the coming Spring.
